The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association is seeking to fund seed money for projects of community-based organizations located in and serving the New York City area. Awarded projects will help further the goal of our organization by specifically focusing on improving the cardiovascular health of youth. Grant proposals can be focused on any of the following topics with a clear justification of how they improve the cardiovascular health of youth in our communities:  Health Assessments  Nutrition/Eating Habits  Physical Activity  Systems Change in Schools  Health Equity AHS/ASA will award grants to any non-profit group or organization that is located within the five boroughs of New York City. A total of $125,000 has been allocated for grant distribution. The maximum award will be $25,000, Deadlines:  Submit Letter of Intent by email October 14, 2011  Submit Proposals via email by Friday, October 28 2011, 5:00 PM (EST)  Submit a signed proposal via mail by Wednesday, November 2, 2011.
