There's still time to participate in Uptown Arts Stroll (Paseo de las Artes)!
Through Tuesday, June 30, 2009, Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance presents Uptown Arts Stroll 2009, an annual visual and performing community arts festival in Washington Heights and Inwood. This month long celebration of arts and culture being held in June will also promote the business scene and natural beauty of this diverse neighborhood of Northern Manhattan.
This year, local pianist and vocalist Marjorie Eliot, host of Parlor Entertainment, and saxophonist and composer Miguel Zenón, a 2008 recipient of the MacArthur Genius Award will be recognized and honored. Also, the Uptown Arts Stroll 2009 will showcase the outstanding painters, musicians, and other performing artists, many of them NoMAA grantees, who are contributing to the cultural life of Northern Manhattan. These artists will exhibit and perform in local restaurants, businesses, open spaces, parks and other venues.
