Take a Loved One for a Check-up Day"

Happened September 22nd, 2009
Our generation is much more in-tuned with wellness and health , however the same can't necessarily be said about our parents and Grandparents. This day is a national initiative started by the Office of Minority Health to stress importance of getting regular checkups.

If you are free , visit your family and encourage them to make an appointment with their physician. As a physician who often contacts family members, many of them are suprised when they find out their loved one isn't following up with there medical problems as recommended.

For those like me who work late on this designated day, even sending your family members a text , email or card, reminding them you care about their well being.
