This Symphony Space event explores the mental health epidemic of depression in the African American community: What it looks like, sounds like and feels like. The presenters' aim is to alert, educate and transform individuals suffering from this illness who may be unaware. Acclaimed author and mental health advocate, Terrie M. Williams, will lead a segment to stimulate dialogue on the subject. Audience testimonials will be shared along with remarks from such notables as Mo-Nique, Ruby Dee, John Amos, Susan L. Taylor, Geoffrey Canada, Felicia "Snoop" Pearson, Jamie Hector, Terry McMillan and the Reverend Al Sharpton.
