HARLEM WEEK’s Summer in The City - Arts, Entertainment & Dance Festival

Happened August 14th, 2010

The Apollo will be an exhibitor at this outdoor cultural Arts & Entertainment and dance festival honoring the grand village of Harlem! Sumer in the City -- a fusion of arts, culture, and entertainment-- provides the ultimate outdoor Harlem experience for the entire family as thousands of attendees shop, mingle, and dance along Harlem’s West 135th Street. The event features an assortment of vendors and exhibitors displaying and selling exotic foods, visual arts, crafts, artifacts, and custom clothing.  A variety of exciting demonstrations, stage productions, and promotional giveaways keeps the busy streets energized, and these events are punctuated by a “Quiet Storm” R&B and Light Jazz Concert honoring Teddy Pendergrass that will feature headlining national acts, plus local and emerging talent. Education information will be available at the National Historic Black College Fair & Expo. There will also be a Harlem Healthy Eating And Living (HEAL) day-long Health Testing and a N.Y. City Children’s Festival.
