Free Screenings for Head and Neck Cancer

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is offering FREE Head and Neck Cancer Screenings on Thursday, April 22nd from 9am-12 noon.  No appointment necessary. 

 

Where: Enid A. Haupt Pavillion - 425 E. 67th Street, 4th Floor - Suite 5 (Between First and York Avenues)

 

Who Should Attend: Adults who smoke, drink or spend a lot of time in the sun.  Adults who notice any of the warning signs of head and neck cancer.  For more information, call: 646-497-9161.

 

"Head and Neck cancer can occur in the nasal passages, mouth, throat, voice box, or skin.  There are thousands of new cases of head and neck cancer each year, many of which can be cured.  The best chance for a cure is when the cancer is found early."

 

The warning signs: Frequent nose bleeds; ongoing nasal congestion; persistent sore or growth in mouth or throat; constant earaches; lasting change in voice; bloodly phlegm lasting several days; lump in neck lasting mroe than two weeks; changes in skin or mole; or problems swallowing.
