You could help researchers understand how racism affects health
If you are an African American 18+ years old, living in Harlem or Bedford Stuyvesant you may be eligible to participate in a study on how racism affects health. The Black LIFE Study will be randomly contacting households in the two neighborhoods in the Fall of 2011. Participants receive $100. For more information about the study, see the attached flyer.
Harlem Word: Marcia Sells talks about Dance Theater of Harlem
Marcia Sells, BS, JD, was a ballerina with the Dance Theater of Harlem. She recalls her life before she went to law school, before she worked as a prosecutor, before returning to Columbia University as Dean of the Law School, then as Associate Vice President in the Office of Government and Community Affairs, and Associate Dean of Community Outreach in the School of the Arts.
