Following her experience planning and participating in Healthy Living, Active Lifestyles, Guedy shares her healthy lifestyle tips:
1. Plan ahead. Prepare your lunch the night before and vinaigrette for salads and condiments like hot sauce at work if you can.
2. Ban bland food. Season your food with spices and herbs so you don't give in to unhealthy cravings.
3. Read labels. Know what's in food before you buy it and what the portion or serving size is. You'll be surprised!
4. Drink lots of water. This was a real change for me as I used to drink a lot of coffee and have a soda with my lunch. Water is filling and it's FREE!
5. Make small changes. I didn't overwhelm myself with huge, unrealistic goals. I just slowly began adding in little changes to my lifestyle.
6. Be creative about being active. I have a pedometer and try to do 10,000 steps a day three to four days a week. I do more on threw weekends if I don't get in as many steps during the week to make up for it. Sometimes I just dance in my living room!
7. Don't deprive yourself. Sometimes I'll have a big steak as a treat. But I've added healthier protein options, like nuts, into my diet.
