Peggy Shepard Brings Environmental Justice Concerns to MSNBC

West Harlem Environmental Action, Inc. (WE ACT for Environmental Justice) is a Northern Manhattan community-based organization whose mission is to build healthy communities by assuring that people of color and/or low-income participate meaningfully in the creation of sound and fair environmental health and protection policies and practices.

Peggy Shepard, the Executive Director of WE ACT, joined Melissa Harris-Perry on MSNBC to discuss the effects of environmental injustice and climate change on low income and communities of color. Peggy explained the need  for grassroots efforts to have real and lasting change in environmental policy.
