I've decided -- Starting 2009 on the right foot

I made the 'unofficial' New Year's resolution to eat more healthy in 2009. I fell into the "lazy" and "no money" trap/excuse to go next door to McDonald's for lunch on one too many occasions last year. So here is the plan...

1) Prepare food at home and take snacks (today I made air popped popcorn and put it in a ziplock bag)

2) Budget for veggies and fruits. This was something I cut back on to cut expenses when money was tight. Probably not the best place to cut, no?

3) Find new recipes. This simply because if I get bored with my food...there's an excuse for me to go out and buy something not so healthy.

Any suggestions? If you have any good recipes, let me know.

Good luck to you all who might be starting their New Year's resolutions to be healthy too!

awesome resolution! hope you can stick to it. why not share your deal meal plans so that i can get some ideas too. i get into the trap myself and often its because there are no other alternatives around. i have seen that bringing food from home or munching on energy bars for lunch has cut some of the "burger binging " during lunch, at-least there are many sites for recipes - such as http://allrecipes.com or if you want video recipes see http://ifood.tv
