GHHEditor May 16th

This is National Women’s Health Week! Take some time to learn about what can be done to encourage good health for women.

1. It’s important to get checked! There are a variety of conditions—osteoporosis, breast cancer, cervical cancer— that doctors can screen for. The earlier you know, the better off you’ll be! Click here for a list of recommended screenings.

2. On that note, make sure to visit your doctor for a checkup every year! It doesn’t take very long, and it keeps you healthy.

3. Not sure where to go to get care? Harlem Hospital has a Women’s Health Service that can help you out!

4. If you’re sexually active, make sure you stay protected! It’s a good idea to talk to an expert about safer sex and family planning,  The doctors at the Family Health Center of Harlem can help.

It’s never too late to start healthy habits! And what better time to start than Women’s Health week?
