Healthy Snacking -- What are you eating?

Chef Gina, facilitating this weeks nutrition class at The Nourishing Kitchen of New York City, talked about healthy snacking. Participants shared the snacks they normally have and we discussed how to make them more healthy.

The most eaten snack in the room was chips. We talked about how to make snacking on chips healthier.

1) NEVER eat out of the bag.
2) Use small plates and fit about 12 chips on it.
3) Use a baked chip or, if you've got the taste for them, veggie chips.
4) Use a portioned out amount of dip with protein in it to keep you full. Home made dips are the best!
5) Don't snack ALL the time.
6) Remember, it's not about always being perfect, it's about getting healthier and healthier as time goes on. If you start to eat the good stuff, your body will want more!

hah if only I read this YESTERDAY *BEFORE* I devoured half a bag of chips in one sitting.. terrible!
(PS do you have any healthy recipes for tasty dips??)
