The Institute for Family Health has opened a new health center at the site of the former North General Hospital in Harlem.

According to a hospital spokesperson, the emergency room department at North General is still open for treat and release to a transfer site.

The ambulances are being operate by the New York City Fire Department.

The hospital spokesperson says that termination notices were handed out to staff on Friday.
